Desperate World
This site-specific mural is a deeply personal tribute to my homeland Puglia, a region of extraordinary strength, rich in history, culture, and ancient traditions. The artwork sets out to demonstrate that the true marvel of this territory lies not just in its crystal-clear sea, its beaches, or its great food, but in the profound soul of its many local communities and the people who gather day by day to raise social awareness, celebrate the land, and drive the community toward positive change.
Yet, the piece delivers a striking, razor-sharp warning: humanity remains tragically far from respecting the ecosystem we inhabit. As long as we keep polluting the air we breathe, poisoning the very fields that feed us, and abusing our oceans, the planet will have no choice but to push us out. On a technical and visual level, the drama of climate change and industrial or plastic pollution is translated through freehand spray paint into a deconstructed terrestrial globe, torn open and sliced apart by a golden ring. Within this twilight setting, marine creatures and hyper-realistic details fight for survival amidst a sea of fluorescent flows and high-impact color emissions (glow-effects). The piece leverages the cutting-edge language of urban art to remind us that even our small, everyday actions can make a definitive difference in saving our planet.
